Malware software is the shortened term for Malicious Software. It is designed specifically to gain access to your computer without you knowing about it. A very dangerous thing that some malware can do is open a page that looks like your bank page and thereby cause you to give them sensitive information. Less dangerous software is called spyware that monitors which websites you visit and then sells this data. You will then be targeted with customized pop up ads.

The dangers of malware should not be taken lightly. Take all possible steps to protect yourself from it. Any negligence on your part could cause you to join the growing ranks of victims of internet crime.
